   In order to accelerate the development of new industries, Dongguan has made a solemn commitment of "if there is space, come into Dongguan", and is making every effort to build seven strategic new industry bases, including new energy. Among them, Dongguan new energy industry base is located in Water Township Economic Zone, focusing on the development of new energy vehicles and their parts and components research and development and manufacturing, hydrogen fuel cell power system and its basic materials and key components research and development innovation, perfecting the system of storage, transportation and hydrogen energy industry chain.

    It is reported that in the field of lithium battery, the scale of Dongguan's existing lithium battery industry exceeds 50 billion yuan, of which the output value of consumer electronics lithium battery ranks second in the country; in the field of new energy vehicles, complete vehicle manufacturing enterprises such as CAC Hongyuan and Dongyi New Energy have emerged, forming an industrial chain of complete vehicle production. Dongguan Vice Mayor Ye Baohua said at the opening ceremony that the new energy industry is a strategic emerging industry that Dongguan focuses on supporting the development of. Dongguan has a strong manufacturing base, and its economic structure and development mode are constantly optimized, which provides favorable conditions for the development of the new energy industry.

Battery "Davos" organizing committee secretary general, Zhongguancun new battery technology innovation alliance secretary general Yu Qingjiao said at the opening ceremony, up to now, China's new energy vehicle sales and lithium battery shipments have steadily accounted for half of the world, new energy vehicle penetration rate continues to climb, power battery tens of billions of investment projects frequently landed, hundreds of GWh short- and medium-term capacity planning targets are competing to launch, intelligent equipment and core materials also follow the rhythm of the layout of battery companies, opening a new round of technology and capacity race.

    At the opening ceremony, 28 major projects in the Water Township Economic Zone were signed, with a total investment of 16.7 billion yuan and an expected total output value of 33.3 billion yuan. The signing of these projects will inject new impetus and new momentum for the development of strategic emerging industries in Dongguan Water Township.
